Now, I'm quite a big Volkswagen fan. I've always owned a Volkswagen and that's likely to continue in the future. But bias aside, could they have possibly designed a more boring looking car if they tried? Seen a few now and I know styling is always very subjective but they just look so bland!

I've sat in a middle of the road variant and the interior was very nice indeed. Top quality materials and very easy on the eye. Think it just tips the new Volvo V40 in that regard. Just a shame they couldn't have been a little more adventurous with the exterior. At least it gives them room for significant improvement with the GTi.

That's kind of the idea with the Golf though. I recently test drove a GT model and was impressed by the interior too.

I agree they're never likely to push the boundaries with their sacred cow, just thought they could've come up with something a little more interesting. I think they'll look very dated in years to come.

Interiors, a refined drive and competitive leasing will shift them by the million I'm sure.

Quite like the current 5 series! Saloons look well in dark metallics! Can't quite picture what the back of the estate looks like though! Hmmm...

A golf is a golf is a golf at least you know it's a golf.

They're the same chassis, so not a completely stupid mistake.

I think I have, I live a minute away from a VW dealer, see a white Golf looks new says GT on the side as an advert.

I have seen a few and have to say I really like it. Its not to try hard like a lot of new cars today and has some really nice subtle touches. Although I am known to be a very boring person so the golf suits me just right biggrin

I'd struggle between the 5/6/7, mind numbingly dull but I guess this is what Gold buyers like as they shift enough.

I have seen one.

They had one on display next to a Polo at a shopping outlet near where I live, complete with stickers showing OTR price and finance deal etc

Looks very similar to the mk6

Haven't seen one, and it doesn't excite me to be honest. The only thing I don't like is that VW have changed from an organ throttle pedal to a pendulum one.

Neighbours just got one. Very subtle classy car. We've got a Mk5, its a gentle but effective evolution.
