Unusual specific sharp burning pain above glutes?
Discussion
I just started developing this today. It's hard to describe. It's on my right lower side and just above my glute (if anyone has those 2 bony bits either side of their spine in lower back, it's to the right of them). It's very specific and it doesn't hurt, it's just an odd sensation.
Any ideas on what it is? It feels more like a tendon or something rather than a muscle pain/trauma.
I have piriformis syndrome on the same side (which, funnily enough, has got a lot better since I have started squatting heavy). Do you think it could be related to my sciatic nerve? It isn't affecting my movement at all.
Thanks a lot for any advice.

I'm just a student and not a Doctor
but this sounds like it MAY be an injury to a facet joint?
Often the pain can be referred to an area to the left and right of the lumbar spine region, feeling a bit like what you describe.
There's no substitute for seeing a doctor / physio, so don't take an internet forum diagnosis as gospel! But it's just my 10p's worth...might be worth Googling for facet joint injuries and seeing if it's similar to the discomfort you're experiencing?

I'm pretty sure it's not that as it's much further round towards my hip. In fact, if I stand straight with legs together, keep my back straight and bend at my hip to the left, I can feel the sensation I'm getting. So I would hazard a guess it's maybe a tight or over stretched hip flexor ? It's basically incline with the top of my bum crack (for lack of better words) but round to the right almost outer thigh but very very specific as in it doesn't radiate really. Feels like a warming or heating tight sensation. Can be painful if I don't expect it.

Sounds like a trapped nerve/bulging disc issue- be careful, as burning sensation often comes before a bigger injury. (I've had it before and ignored it)
Disc injury on the outside of the top of my arse? I know that pain can radiate but it's DEFINITELY not coming from my spine.
On the right side, where the glutes are. You see the slightly dark arc? It's roughly there, inline of where the arc starts at the top, but to the right if that makes sense? So just below the hip which is white on the picture.
If I bend over (back straight) to the left, I can feel it pulling. Like someone has put a fish hook in me and they're pulling the line in. So it's quite a specific point. The feeling is like a tightness/burning. It doesn't radiate like my piriformis issues have done.
