Maxed up Griff

Well to follow on from the 'Which is best thread'.

I have never seen a Griff hacked about to 'improve' on the basic design (God Forbid). The design is so right that to do so would be a scandal, have you seen one tho?
Could a Griff be improved for areodynamic's for racing?

Never saw it myself but there was a Green Griff in Essex with a spoiler.

At Le Mans there was a Griff with a Tuscan front - got some photos somewhere if you are interested.

Rev-everend was threatening to fix a SEAC spoiler to the back of Wol, at the BBWF, but didn't in the end.

And at P'fest. It sort of looked like neither one thing or the other.

Having now owned both I wouldn't want to compromise. Apart from lights (which at the front would be a safety item!) I don't think the basic Griff design needs tinkering with....

I would hardly say maxed up.
I see teh TVR Griffith with teh Tuscan front going through Bedford the other day, Thought theres a Tusc... then notice the roof down Then realised it was Plasticmans

I like it think hes done an excellent job, like the colour too.

There was a yellow Griff for sale on PH in the last few months with speed 6 light conversion on the front... didn't look to bad

Agree, it is very nice, If I were to keep my Griff I would think seriously about becoming Plasticmans best friend in the hope we could do the same to mine...

i like it, but the new Tuscan convertible makes it redundant!

but the i suppose it is MUCH cheaper to mod a griff!

The idea of it makes me shudder, but that griffith does look good... why did he go for it? did he damage the front end in a slight accident? or just decided to do it just 'because'?

Thankyou to everyone who has complimented my car . I have owned my griff for six years and have slowly altered it to how it is today . I like the striking looks of the tuscan but the exploding engines , targa roof and inability to stay on the road made me retain the griff and modify it . The other benefits were bags of torque and the fabulous sound from the five litre . I have photos of the whole process from cutting off the perfect front to completion but do not know how to post them , it took me long enough to load my profile ! I have also modified the brakes , suspension and chassis on this car and am very happy with the car as a whole and take it as a personal insult when somebody describes it as puke , possibly a meeting could iron out any differences , David

Steady on Tiger - most people must realise you've large gonads to take on something as radical as that.

I've got to admit it grows on you, initially it's a shock! To be honest I like the purple colour.

There's a few posts on how to get photo's on here - a search may help.

This is an outline of what you need to do. You need to download your pics to an internet site - most people use 'fotango', or someone may 'host' for you (use there site). So you open an account on fotango, download your pics - then make them availble for anyone to see (I think you apply them to a 'add to public area').

When you have done this the photo will have an address, you add this address to your post and the pic will be part of your post with a pic][/pic] command. There is a helpfull command in fotango which says something like 'veiw your link to this picture' and that's what you need to put between the pic]...[/pic] command.

I can understand this - sometimes on PH it is all to easy to be very cutting with remarks when you can hide behind the PC.

Personally, I always try not to type anything that I would not say to someone face to face. Some of the comments made about the Charisma Cerbera a couple of years ago were very disparaging and made me embarrassed to be part of Pistonheads.

Having seen the Griff/Tuscan in the flesh I can say that it is stunning. Whilst it is not something I would want to do to our Griffith, I can appreciate why Plasticman made these changes and the standard of workmanship is excellent.

Thats mine guys, It also had the last 100 mirrors and rear light conversion too all done at TVR Power.
Will gets some pics up as soon as I can.
