Morning! I need to get hold of a new battery for the OHs Peugeot 306. It's a 1.8 X reg. Stupidly, I took a photo of what I thought was the right ID number, but it isn't. Could someone tell me the right part no and dimensions please, since the usual online battery places are giving a wide variety of dimensions. I could of course just go to Halfords, but then I'd have no money left for ropey flowers and Milk Tray from the local garage.

Your help will make me look all manly just before Valentine's Day and secure me a "reward". This being PH, I will naturally document this reward photographically because posts like this are useless without pictures.*

Many thanks

.*this is a lie - I probably won't post pictures because you don't need the mental scarring a picture of my fast moving buttocks would cause.

Ring a local motor factor, they'll be able to get the right battery from your reg number.

Best option which the mrs will love-
1- Forget battery
2- call scrappy to weigh in 306
3- replace it with an mx5 with a bow on the bonnet.
Job jobbed.

Stick the reg into the Euro Car Parts website. Bingo.

Cheers gents. Main issue was reg into such sites didn't return one battery, or indeed one set of dimensions for a battery. Not being able to go back and eyeball the thing makes things tricky.

However, I spoke to Joe at Tayna Batteries (no relation, no connection etc) and I got the best service I've had for anything in ages.

He:

Talked me through the battery selections, OEM, upgrade etc.
Asked me to email the photo I'd taken of the old battery.
Took my number, went off, researched the old unit dimensions, and rang me back about ten minutes later.
Talks me through the options required for the specs I now had.
Recommended the right thing.

All this on the promise I'd order through the website. Which I did. Chapeau to him/them. Top service.

And yes, an MX5 is the obvious choice, but my car only has two seats, so we do need something a mite practical... Surely I shouldn't have to consider four seats myself now? Ahem...
