Best way to find small/medium companies who are recruiting?

Looking for a new job (redundant) and don't want to work for a bank or public sector which is 70% of the jobs advertised online.

Any thoughts on best way to find a good audience in small/medium companies to get my CV into?

I fancy sticking an advert in the local paper actually, page 6, full page ad, HIRE ME...

Get your CV onto monster.co.uk and similar sites.

Narrow your search parameters a bit, ie what industry, use google then get on the phone.

Industry aside, what can/do you want to do?
