Up close and personal with the new f80 m3!

Just got back from a trip to regensburg doing some project work with, amongst other things, the new f80 m3. It looks absolutely mega!

It was in the new yas marina blue (kind of a dark baby blue) which really suited the car, and the new carbon roof is lovely, it's got a lovely scalloped shape to it. Weighed about the same as a bag of sweets too !!

F80 as in the saloon?

Wasn't sure if the F80 was going to get CF roof though the F82 coupe would.

Did anyone explain the F80/82 model designations?

The cars are based on the F30's model cycle, are they not?

yes - F80 saloon. The car will have a carbon roof, and probably a steel option with panoramic roof.

I can't wait to see this car. When is it due out?

You'll probably not get a lot if enthusiasm on here however as most will bemoan the fact that it isn't an NA M engine, but not me I reckon it's going to be a cracker!!

Yep, the wait is going to be fun. And, after experiencing the 1M, I see the turbo'd lump as a plus................

I was thinking it would be at least 440 BHP.

The drop in weight will be welcome though.

Any idea as to when it will be on sale here in the UK?.
