I know that the time to buy will always be tommorrow but I'm looking at getting an AMD 3500 (S939) system in the next month or so (building it myself) and was wondering if anyone knew anything about prices...

I'm reading that when PCI-E comes about in larger proportions prices of the older boards will drop slightly (I'm using my GF4-Ti4400 so don't need PCI-E yet) and that AMD are sitting pretty with regard to competition (nothing from Intel matches the 64bit cpu's apparently).

Any ideas when the prices might drop slightly (£236+ is a little much to pay on a chip at the moment and I want the best I can get so it lasts me as long as possible - I'm still running a 1.4Tbird at the moment).

Thank you

The price will drop the week after you buy it (or at least it usually does for me)

Oh it always will, but hopefully someone here knows more about the market than I at the moment and can forsee a price drop within...

I remember the iPod Gen3 coming out and the rumours/waiting that occurred for 6months prior
