Tell me its not only me?

Looking for a very specific spec'd car at the mo, two items of which are xenon lights and climate control.

Saw one this morning, supposedly has both. Pics sent through - no washers for xenons (isn't that an MOT fail, if they are factory fitted xenons?) and climate control is infact air con. I'll grant you, its a moot point but it makes a difference.

Is it just me or do you find that when looking at cars, you can feel that you know what you're looking at more than the person selling?

Yeah, tells you a bit about the seller too - especially if it's a dealer.

I saw a dealer-offered Boxster recently that had apparently just had it's cam belt done. Funny that, since the cams are chain driven...

I've got no idea how to tell the difference between climate control and AC.

I would expect lots of other people to be just as ignorant as I am.

At a guess op is looking at a mk5 golf? Those two extras transform a golf more so than any other car

In the car I'm interested in, its a clear option - air con is standard, climate was a £400 (rare) option. Its not the be all, end all, but if the advert says it has it, it should actually have it.

I get where you're coming from, I'd struggle to tell the difference, but then I don't sell cars for a living (ad. is a traders ad.)

Ha, no, but if thats the case, it kind of underlines my point. I wouldnt say it transforms the car I want, but it makes its more desirable to me and if its in the ad, I'd expect it to be on the car.

Seems too much to ask smile

I was under the belief (perhaps incorrectly) that it was only a fail if the washers were there and not working not just not there.

Doesn't excuse the misdescription if that is the case though!

I can understand why if the ad says one thing and the car itself has another then the potential buyer would be miffed. But I have to admit that I don't know the difference between air con and climate control.

Well, I am thick on this difference too!

I guess A/C just means it chucks out cold air, but "Climate Control" is some sort of more sophisticated thermostat?

Come on, what's the difference???

In this instance, a/c just has the option to make it warmer/colder, where as the Climate Control has a seperate digital temperature setting for driver/passenger which is set and then maintained.

As I say, its a small difference. In reality, there's practically very little difference.

Ah, also, the car was advertised as manual (which I want, and is rare), but its shown as auto in the pics....and is, sure enough, an auto.
