R107 SL central locking fault - any suggestions?

Afternoon all,
Got an odd fault on a R107 post '85 facelift model. The passenger side door won't unlock properly on the remote, the catch to the left of the interior door handle (when you're facing it) won't open properly - when you unlock via the remote it opens a little then shuts itself as though it's sticking ( you can hear the central locking making the wirring noise and re-shut).
However, when using the key it's fine! I've stripped off both door cards and the passenger side with the fault looks the same as the drivers side. I know these cars CL is vacuum fed but surely it wouldn't work on both the remote and key if that was the issue - or am I mis-understanding??

I don't think the R107 ever had factory fit remote locking. The system on your car is most probably aftermarket. If the car locks/unlocks fine with the key then it must be the aftermarket system at fault. Dodgy motor/solenoid/lock actuator thingy?
Many thanks for the response. Not sure whether it had remote CL from the factor or not, but it is a late post '85 face lift model.
I think the key works differently, having taken the door cards off I can see the internal mechanics working as I operate via the key. It seems the pumps inside the passenger door whilst descending into the pump (actuator?) presumably via gravity fails to be able to pump up. On the drivers side it seems to stick, so I'm not sure which one is affecting it.
Having removed but not disconnected the pump in the drivers side of the boot it seems to be operating properly. So I'm not sure if it's the vacuum which is failing (joints that I can see look ok) or the actuators in the door.....
Any suggestions fellas, I'm stumped??
