He's foolish for not getting it looked at when it first started happening, but why wouldn't you slip it into neutral and turn the engine off, using the handbrake to slow down? Even if it was an auto with a gawd-awful pedal hand brake like mine it could be done in an emergency, surely?

the article says a Renault engineer was on the phone to him trying to help him. Something never quite adds up with any of these stories that make it to the news.

Im always baffled how someone, who have obviously pasted a driving test of some sorts, can't stop a car.

Turn it off? Brake? change down a gear? do us all a favour and use a tree/ sign post?

Crock. It's bad enough driving with cruise control, there are 101 issues with being stuck at exactly the same speed, especially one that high. Plus there's no way you could drive through those toll booths at 125mph.

Not saying this is true but i reckon a toll booth with the gate up and no traffic could easy be done.

Also can a Laguna even do 125 mph let alone for 150 miles?
