Pins n Needles after eating..
Discussion
Good Evening,
Something I've noticed now for the last couple of years but not been overly worried about;
After a meal, usually something highly protein based, I often have pins and needles in my hands for 20 minutes or so.
Now, my assumption has been that is due to the blood rushing to my stomach to digest the food and therefore less blood is being pumped round my hands?
I eat a fairly clean diet of meat and vegetables with occasional rice.
Food is typically 3 eggs a day, 4 chicken breasts with lots of vegetables, beef or pork for dinner with 2-3 protein shakes a day.
I train between 2-5 times a week, a mixture of weights and cardio.
Thanks

Is there any tingling anywhere else, like your lips, mouth or throat?
Could be lost of things - see a GP, don't speculate on here - but my thoughts are a possible intolerance / allergic reaction to some type of foods...
Good advice IMO. I would seek professional medical opinions asap. This is not normal and requires proper investigation. It could be so many different things, but I would certainly not ignore it. First point of call must relate to either sugar levels falling or blood supply altering but you need competent medical advice.Could be lost of things - see a GP, don't speculate on here - but my thoughts are a possible intolerance / allergic reaction to some type of foods...

Nope. No where else. Just in my hands.Could be lost of things - see a GP, don't speculate on here - but my thoughts are a possible intolerance / allergic reaction to some type of foods...
I'm convinced it's just down to low blood pressure. :/
Haven't been training for the last week and have been eating all sorts with no effects.
Have just eaten a large bowl of chicken, rice and veg ready for training tomorrow and am typing this with pjns and needles in both hands again.
Really don't want to but it seems like a quick visit to the docs might be in order. I HATE going to the doctors..

Changed my mind, sounds like insulin is to blame.
Still put a call through to Hugh though
The vagal nerve is an intersting suggestion.Still put a call through to Hugh though
I have often had problems with having a 'dead (left) arm' that seems to go away when I've been training but can sometimes re-appear for a day or two.
Wonder if there might be a link?

Bizarre. I'd see the doc. I hear handectomies can be done under local.
No Hoofy!I'm not having a handectomie, I'm single at the moment... it'd be the end of any sort of relaxation!
