mercedes 190e - my new retro ride!

Following on from shed of the week.
Always liked the Mercedes 190e and managed to pick this beauty up this week.
Immaculate exterior, full MB service history and runs beautifully.
Lovely for a 24 year old car.

The photo is very generous though as it had parking dings on nearly every panel, I only paid £220 for it though complete with a long MOT.

How many miles has it done? And excuse my ignorance but what engine is it? In fact can we have a picture of the engine bay, pretty please

From the F reg and lack of telltale and typical 2.6 spec features, I'd guess it's the default 2.0 petrol. Looks super tidy.

Yes it is the 2.0 litre, it's done 122000 miles but has a full MB service history and is really clean throughout. The only things I have found are wrong with it - the drivers door strap that stops the door from opening too far has snapped and the bonnet strut is not holding the bonnet up. It is in my local garage today to have those done and a quick mechanical check over.
Interior is good, just need to tidy up the door cards.
Don't know what to do to it, leave it bog standard or do some tasteful mods - any suggestions are very welcomed!!
Glad it's received a positive feedback, I have liked these for years and this seems to have been well looked after and well built!

Leave standard! Any "modz, yo!" will have it/you looking like an East London escapee. Graceful, elegant, dignified barges, especially those wearing the three-pointed star, should be left as standard

There are no "tasteful mods" you can do.

The satisfaction in these cars comes from strolling down the street in the knowledge that every single newish car you see will be 'recycled' well before your 190 gives up the ghost.

Car looks great OP, loved mine. Be aware that, whilst very hard-wearing, the light grey check seat fabric can start to look grubby quickly.

About the only mod I like on these is to paint the plastic 'Sacco' lower body plastic mouldings in the body colour. It's not 'Barry Boy' style, but updates the look a little. I also prefer them without the boot spoiler (except for the AMG ducktail type).
