Just thought some of you might be interested in my American Spec car. Nothing too fancy, makes a great DD!
13.77@101 mph is my best 1/4 time stock, not been since.

I've done a few things to it, nothing too fancy. BC coilovers, chipped, exhaust the big ones. It 'should' be around 300-330BHP or about 260-280 at the wheels.

Nobody knows now LOL. A guy in the Bentely GT and Cayenne GTS and numerous other odds and sods. People either laugh at it, or stare in awe. Passed a BoxterS who had planted it, they laughed at me as I buzzed by.
They don't look bad with the OEM wing off. You can get a PVO spoiler for it, but not sure if I like them yet. TBH these things start getting a bit funny without the downforce of the rear wing.

I did import it. They were not officially sold here, but there are some floating around Europe. With the exchange rate you could pick up one in the USA for about £3000 atm. You would have to add around £2000 for shipping charges then add 30% import duty.

I have seen a couple for sale here in the past, I remember seeing a white one in the PH classifieds with blue strips.I did import it. Saw that one before it left the country 2 Dutch brothers bought it a couple years ago now. It's still alive and kicking. That's a commemorative edition (only 200 made IIRC). I think a Dad bought it and imported it for his kid and the kid got bored of it. Don't quote me on that though, it was a a couple years since I talked to the dealer about it. Nice to see another one. A friend of mine had one with stage 2 Mopar kit. The chatter from the wastegate and pops and bangs from the exhaust were brilliant. Straight line is was a match for my P1 when standard.
His was black with red stripes. He imported his as he was USAF but I don't think he took it back with him when he moved back.
As you say people just don't know what these cars are capable of. We were at Santa Pod with Kev's on a RWYB and he lined up at the start and the commentator was taking the mick out of it for looking silly and then it promptly lunched the Supra that lined up next to it

No, it uses Chryslers 2.4 liter I4 thats used in the PT GT with added oil squirter's to keep the top of the pistons cooled and a V8 oil pump as well as a crank scraper tray (ISH, there is a balance shaft assembly down there too). It does use Mitsu's TD04 turbo that's used in some of the STI's. This turbo sees 20PSI at about 2000 rpm and at redline it's still pumping out 16psi. Stock these ran 14psi. You 'could' compare the powerband to an American V8. The turbo is very small for the size so spool response is very good, Dodge also runs a reducer just after the turbo which helps keep the turbo response up. Max torque hits at 2400 rpm and flatlines to 4400. They can do this because the PCM calculates torque and adjusts boost to keep the torque the same. It's great for drive-ability! No PTB here!

Well the BHP isn't going to cause the torque steer, the 350 ft-lbs will though
The car comes standard with a quaife LSD which does a great job on keeping the torque steer down. When I was stock (and newish!) it didn't pull at all. I do get a little now, but nothing that isn't manageable. As long as you don't overload the fronts it will pull you through the corner nicely!If you can't tell I'm a bit of a fanboy. I have had this car from new.

Yep it does start wheezing bad by 6k. Dodge made a TD05 stage3 kit, but it's cheaper to buy the parts and make your own which is the route I went. The car is ready for a TD05 or larger (have 600cc injectors sitting here), I just ran out of pennies. . Get a tdo5 on there The upside is that the torque coming off the low RPM's is crazy! The problem now is surging in 4th at the lower rpms. could turn the boost back, but instead I just don't low RPM it in 4th or 5th.

Meant to say as well the internals can handle 400+ whp, so makes for a decent cheap platform for anyone interested in modding.

Yes it's basically a Neon, though the suspension, tires, driveline, engine, seats and over 1/2 the body panels are not Neon Took a look at the flicker photos and it looks mean from the front and back!
Thanks! Sounds mean too! They came stock with a straight through 2.25in exhaust with a cat and a couple expansion chambers (cherrybombs!). When you let off the PCM cuts the spark but lets the fuel run for a split second. This unburnt fuel makes for some nice rattles and pops on de-accel!
Ahh I see, well there is like 25k NSRT-4's out there so could be anybody lol.

Yep it's the top model Neon. But the Neon in the US has a different rep to here in the UK. The original Neon (also sold in the UK) could be had in a club racer guise and was quite a good little compact sporting car.Took a look at the flicker photos and it looks mean from the front and back!
