Screen price vs. on-line price
Discussion
Anyone in car sales shed some light on something I've noticed this week?
Been looking at a few cars, most of which I've seen on-line initially (PH/Autotrader/eBay). A couple of them were on all of the sites, and all advertised at the same price on each site. So why, when I get to the dealer, is the price in the screen £2000-3000 higher than the on-line price?
When asking which is the correct price, all of the salesmen said that it must be a mistake, it should be the higher, but they'd sell at the lower price.
Is this common? It happened with 3 of the 4 I went to view. Can't be a coincidence, surely? Anyone else come across this?
