Where do you find one of these little beauties?

Between the rocking horse s!@t and moon dust in Halfrauds?

Thought I'd just shoot out and get one... Naively it seems rolleyes

I'm near Sevenoaks in Kent and new-ish to the area so welcome any local knowledge or pointers....

Try a Land Rover indie, that's where I got mine, next day I believe.

They use them a lot, extra power for winching!

I've had my Red Top in my Landy for about 5 years now, normal use and winching, still going strong!

I'm looking at a new battery too, I have considered the Odyssey and the Red Top, but to be honest I'll probably get a high capacity battery with a 4 or 5 year warranty.

An 096 won't fit well enough for the cover to go back on straight (at least it wouldn't on mine ).

The Red Tops fit judging from the history across the boards... And seem to be the most resilient to deep discharges which is a real risk with a Cerb.

I don't think I'll stray from the red top, even though it's a little 'spenny' smile

Just hadn't realised they weren't an off the shelf type product. Shame given the weather forecast for tomorrow banghead

Optima will fit, too small if anything.
Mixed reviews, they aren't as good as they used to be.

Nope, not a fan of these fancy batteries... Have destroyed a number of them in the Landies. Not worth the money and the guarantees aren't worth the paper they're written on!

These days, I just stick to the regular lead-acid batteries.

I have had a red top optima and it failed on me , also tried a exide maxima battery which also failed, so now trying an oddesey battery. Red tops switched production to Mexico so possible they are not as good as they used to be !

I was reading a thread on PH somewhere recently where it was said that Optima quality has gone down the pan a while ago when production was moved to a cheaper location. Failures were quite common. Not what you want to hear given the price of these.

I fitted one of these
S4009 / 086 BOSCH SILVER Car Battery 12V 74Ah
From a local motor factors v reasonable price terminals on correct side higher capacity than standard 680cca fits for height so cover goes on fine just longer so you need to jiggle the clamp so to speak.
