Driving round recently have noticed a lot of the tell tale swirly, colorful patterns on the road that someone has dropped fuel, usually there is a hint of diesel whiff in the air, who does it and at nearly £1.50 a litres how do they afford to splash it all over the road for miles ?

Round my way it's usually Hackney Cab drivers that brim the tank, then the first corner or roundabout, it sloshes up and out the ill fitting fuel cap! I've noticed this many times!

Us diesel users get many more miles to the litre, we can afford to leave a bit lying around to remind you petrol lovers what you are missing out on.

And us motorcyclists particularly appreciate it.

I'm very mindful of diesel spills since I heard how dangerous it is for bikers, and will almost always call them in on the non-emergency Police number (Who pass on to Highways).

I was coming down the A39 towards Minehead the other day, a popular biker's run, and it was absolutely everywhere on the corners for about 4 miles, ridiculously dangerous and right on the "line"

Imbeciles of any diesel vehicle that don't put the filler cap on properly.

People won't notice if a petrol vehicle ever did it.

I always find its HGV drivers spilling the diesel. Or the local clapped out 20+ year old double decker buses that ferry the little sts to school.

In SE London it was portable generator plants towed from the back of transit vans. Brimmed tank + crap/no cap = diesel slops right where you ride a motorbike. Nice one.

I saw a white jag today with diesel stains in the shape of the slipstream from the fuel filler. He came into the coffee shop.

I pointed it out to him. He didn't seem to care until I showed him the massive scar on my elbow from hitting diesel on the motorbike 2 years ago.

I think these have a lot to answer for...

I think people read as 'replacement' not 'emergency' rolleyes
