OK guys, what car is this from ? Genuine question, I need another and I can't remember, It came out of a scrapyard a few years ago, it was a small car - either 80s or 90s. Japanese or maybe Italian - I think those squeeze type clips on the hose were used on some Fiats ?

Anyone recognise ?

Mx5 possibly. I'll check tomorrow.

ETA, nope. Similar cap though. Another Mazda maybe.

Probably a red herring but it looks very similar to my suzuki alto but not the hose clip.

Well done !

I'm Google Imaging the replies (well most of them !) and the MR2 Mk1 has the same cap.

Hang on, not quite there yet ! That is very close but mine has a square bottom. It looks very like the one half way down this page which is fitted in a homemade aircraft and described as Toyota Corolla - but Googling for Corolla hasn't found it yet.

I laughed more than I should have done at this!

To answer the why question, it fits nicely in the engine bay of a classic.
So, Toyota, mid 1980s to 2000, and it was in a Cheltenham scrapyard about 5 years ago so unlikely to have been anything unusual.
Corolla is close but it's not quite that.
It might have been a small commercial rather than car ?

That's not even a litre is it? Go shiny, the price difference will probably negligible.. Half litre alloy, it would probably be easier to find an alloy one for sale in the size you want than to get an exact match on that plastic one.
