Well after receiving the car and the heater matrix wasn't fitted.
The heater blower was in a box not attached to the car
Anyway, finally looked at it and it didn't do anything at all, just made the wires spark when it was tested on the battery.
When I redid the car I fitted a kenlowe sensor and two 8" cooling fans to the back of the rad and removed the rad fan bolted to the chassis.... Can you see where I'm heading???
I noticed both motors looked identical, snip chop and bang later, the old rad fan motor is fitted to the heater blower cowling and works.
At the moment there's one earth and one feed it, the switch on the dash has full, off and half speed, so that shall be made to work (either resistance/load will lower voltage on one wire as both are putting out 12v)
I'll post a pic later, I just figured if anyone else has a similar problem they now know the original housing can be kept and made to work.
Looks original still and when wired up kicks out some oooommmmph!!!

It possibly is, but the resistor is missing from it and so wasn't sure what to do.
Found a spare blower in a scrap yard, exact same smiths one but the underneath was melted and wiring had burnt out...
What I've done would be a lot better with pictures, however away from home and beloved car and the Mrs on a work training course.
I've managed to live without the heater so isn't all that bad. I shall have a look at the old motor when I'm home.
Cheers dude
