headlights and Ignition lights wont turn off, door wont shut

Hi all, anyone experienced this? I was out of the country and someone phoned me to say that my car had a mind of its own and the headlights were on and wont turn off. Needless to say the battery drained completely. When I returned my trickle charger had become waterlogged through all the monsoons we suffered during December.
I took the battery out as the trickle charger failed to recharge the battery. Having charged it up overnight and put it back on the headlights still come on and wont go off and also the ignition lights on the dash still stay on, even after starting the car and turning it off.
Obviously something electrical like the ECU has got very wet, the carpet has become somewhat saturated as well.
Any ideas how to rectify these issues?

Try removing appropriate relays, one by one, to establish if any have failed closed.

Other than that, any terminal/plug could be waterlogged inc. fuse board via windscreen seal leaking?

Thanks, I have removed cleaned and replaced all relays and some related fuses. Amazingly, none were wet, so will check the passenger door motor next as that does not close. Also will buy a dehumifier and run that for a few days.

Sounds like a problem I had, whenever it rained the engine cooling fans would turn on, even with the ignition off, and discharge the battery. Water ingress into the fusebox was the cause, sounds like you may have a similar thing going on....

Eventually got things sorted, it dried out sufficiently so that the majority of things resolved themselves except the passenger door which required removing the door catch on the bodywork and spraying with wd40 type spray. Thanks for your assistance
