Been looking forward to making this thread since I first saw interest in these 500s a few months ago. I'm not normally into hot hatches, but there's something about the Abarth which is just so loveable. Did some maths and decided that this would be my next car. Scanned Autotrader everyday in search for the perfect one, I was really picky about the spec. It had to be this colour (normal white wouldn't do), it had to have these wheels, it had to have red leather, it had to be below 20k miles and had to be less than £10k.
Saw this one pop up but it was nearly 200 miles away. Persuaded my dad to come down with me so we went last Sunday to have a look. Put a deposit down there and then waited for the finance to be accepted. Got the call on Wednesday and it was ready for me to go and pick up! Got the train down there on Saturday, signed the papers and came home in the afternoon. It was okay on the motorway, a bit bumpy but I was driving a 12 year old Suzuki Swift before this so I was used to it.
Just a few quick shots after its first wash today, need to find a good location to get some proper pics soon.
The car's performance is quite special. It may only have 135bhp, but after driving a 1.0l 52bhp car for 2 years it feels rapid as hell. It's just had some new P Zeros on it too so it grips like a b
d. The insurance shocked me. I'm only 19 and it costs £200 more to insure than the Swift!
