Did I see a Cop chase or race?

I was on the A45 heading towards Coventry and just coming up to the M45 junction. I was only doing an honest 55-60mph as I was looking for a place to stop and get the roof off as the rainy weather had gone and the sun was out. When from behind at an enormous rate of knots came a silver BMW 330 being driven quite literally like it had been stolen (must have been touching 100mph on a standard A road), passed me (just) and squeezed between the car in front and the cars coming the other way. To much swerving and avoidance from the others and carried on. I checked my mirror and saw a black Toyota also gaining then passing me. It wasn't the type of car you would normally race against a BMW so it's why I think it may have been a car.

Anyway the really worring thing is that up ahead was a layby, as the Toyota approached it, it tried to pass another car in front but had to pull in sharp and brake to avoid a head-on and the driver almost lost it sideways into the layby. The layby where I was planning to stop at and take the roof off.

The thing is I remembered that I had stopped in Daventry for about 5mins earlier, if I hadn't have done so I would have been there taking the roof off as it would have happened, if he had have lost control......

Either way there are some complete tossers on the roads these days.

Life is full of what if's, it really doesn't bear thinking about.
