Anyone actually know of anyone trying one out?
I am thinking a half cage added to the existing one could be useful..

eg X member the rear up and over hoop and a couple of bars to the rear seat belt anchors on the parcel shelf.

But just wondering how good/bad the stock one is? (it looks fairly flimsy to me)

Reach out to Martin Short at Rollcentre, as well as ex Tuscan Racer & building the original Racing TuscanR.....he also built the original racing Cerbera......and designed and built the cage in that.

He will be more than happy to help, I'm sure.

I don't think the standard item is up to much but then there is also the bar across the top of the windscreen. Between the two I think they'd stop the roof caving in for a common or garden roll, but for track speed accidents you'd do well to fit the proper stuff imo.

Hi Brummie,

I have seen a Cerbera roll and end on its roof. It was thankfully pretty much fully intact. Yeah the roof fibreglass was damaged and the screen smashed, but there was no deformation of the roof shape at all.

extra cant be bad...adds rigidity but also weight.

BTW...any update on the rear disks?

Dont want to fit a full cage as its not a full track car..

The discs are going to be the end of April, i have been in touch with them last week, and he will get in touch if anything changes.

There was a guy who flipped a Cerb on a public road about a year ago, from memory his passenger did not fare well, but I don't remember details.

If you want something effective then maybe speak to those that know FIA specs.
I have been in contact with a guy called Pete Smith who has quoted me £850 for a full proper cage but he says he can do whatever you want. Hes in Darwen. A bit North for you but not a million miles. I have his number if you want it. Oh just thought... a guy called Wayne at 'Intergalactic' near Shakey. He has built some amazing cages. Look up his website.

£850 for an FIA spec cage? That must be supply only as you'd struggle to buy the tube for that.

Wayne's work is amazing (he did all the metal work on Jacksons race car).

Yes Ive seen some of Waynes work myself. Proper job.
That £850 is for a welded in 6/8 point cage scratch built with the correct CDS and weld specs.
No TVR tax involved.

I do see a problem however. I think the outriggers should be remade in at least 3mm thick CDS also to mount to. So the price could end up double in the long run if i want the job doing right and the car tagged to race.
