Hi, after looking around for a nice mk1 uk car i was coming up with nothing in my budget, then a friend said he was selling his mk2 1.8 with a brand new roof, very little rust on the bootlid and 12 month MOT for the pricely sum of £700

pictures from the guy, gunna clean it up tomorrow and get some nice pictures.
Only bad points of the car
has done 130k miles, not too bad i suppose with service history upto 107k
passenger electric window doesn't work, have no clue what that is
rust on bootlid
the wheels look dreadful

Very nice. I wouldn't say 130k was a bad thing. I'd buy one of these with 200k+ on so long as it had service history, bulletproof engines.

Nice one. I'm currently on the lookout for a shed-money MX5 but I've found you need to be quick off the mark when they come up.

i just bought a full mechanism for £43 over on mx5nutz from a car that was breaking, that should sort the problem. nice hardtop i'm currently trying to source one

Window should be sorted
Ordered a short aerial as the current one is manual and huge
Haynes manual is on its way
Poorboys SSR3 abrasive swirl remover is on its way too along with some roof cleaner and sealant, swirl remover is the last hope in seeing how the paintwork is

brt900 - you need to move that number plate mate. MX5s run hot as it is and that number plate is blocking most of the radiator intake.

Ordered the new window motor and regulator so that should be sorted this weekend, wheels are also going on sunday and picking up some standard wheels which i can sell the arosa on. Swirl remover and soft top treatment hasn't showed up yet but i should be cracking on with some bodywork this weekend also.
Latest purchase is a sparco quick release hub, universal boss kit and a suede 350mm wheel Also pricing up some bride buckets which i may bite the bullet for in a month or 2 along with hsd's
