ok.. always looking at changing things so im looking at rear lights.

I am looking at LED type buy prefer the red looking rather than clear finish.

So what have you fitted and if differnt to the factory have you any photos please.

I love the ones on GTW and Rustys old car but they are a bigger size and I dont want to modify the bodywork.

Thanks dom

have to admit to being quite disappointed that no one has replied ..
from the digging i have done I dont think anything that is very appealing fits the old body holes.. the vette or elise led lights do both require much larger openings.

Have you look on Car Builder Solutions? They have a massive range from memory

They all look quite cheap though I think. If you're sticking with the standard holes, the Ultima ones are as good as they get.

To get something better you need to change the size/shape IMO.

All you need is a set of the Factory LED rear lights and some red nail varnish........... In a hew of your choosing.

You can either apply it to the lights or your nails!!!!!!!!!

ive looked at the builders sites and as said they look cheap.. i dont want clear ones as the look boy racer..

Im looking for a bright multi led type lamp.. most of the builder sites are only 12 leds and look crap.

Im also going for 3 lights each side and having red indicators... sod it, its only once a year they get checked and the rozzers will moan more about my exhaust than a red indicator.

I will try to be more helpful

I don't know if they would fit, and they may be 24v, but coaches/buses seem to have some nice bright LED rear lights these days.

Hella may have something too.

My issue with the standard Ultima LEDs was one of symmetry - I didn't want a red fog light on one side which didn't look balanced against the reverse light on the other side. I found some Ultrabright mix and match outer and inner LEDs from Staffordshire Vehicle Components.

http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/ultrabright-outer-l...

I did see these elsewhere but they were more expensive (and depending on what you go for these aren't cheap). I went for stop-tai outer rings which then allows me to have indicator, revers and fog on the inner for each side which gives me the symmetry!

I agree that clear lights cam look a bit boy racer and tacky but I like the finish I got with these. I have seen them elsewhere in black but they look horrible and very tacky!

You can go for red reflectors on the outside ring and different options on the inner. They are 98mm on the outer ring rather than 100mm but this isn't really a problem. Hope this gives you an idea.

Has your car been for IVA yet?
If I'm understanding your description then you do not have the required 100mm separation between brake lights and fog light.

Thanks Steve. No not been for IVA yet and understand the IVA requirements. I have three stop tail lights which isn't allowed either. They will not all be connected!

Hi there,

I have used the 'New LED Light Cluster' from Car Builder Solutions. They are about half way down this page...
http://www.nfauto.co.uk/lights_reflectors_repeater...
When off they are an opaque white colour, but when lit they are a very bright LED cluster. Very modern looking in my opinion.
Cheers
Mart
