Many of you know I was hit 2 days before xmas by a hit and run drunk driver (they did catch her about an hour away and she will be spending some time in jail). Anyways, I finally am well enough to get the bike out of the trailer and up for a look. Here's some pics. I thought it would buff out but the adjuster finally came today and seems to think it is a total loss.

Ben

Ouch! a bit of a mess!

Glad you are making progress as I know first hand what an accident like that can be so life changing!

Every improvement you make seams to be a giant leap forward.

Didn't notice when I saw Triumph that it was a Tiger bike - just thought some guy stuck some pictures of a TR7 wreck up on the Wedges section!

Now that I open the images it all makes sense - hi Ben, Rob here in sunny hot Canada.
So, you are going to Woodwork aren't you? Will you and the wedge both be ready in May?

Cheers.

Yeah Rob I'll be at Woodwork. In fact I'm working on the Fri drive later this week. Even planning on Bronte this year as well. Hoping to have a replacement tiger by March. Just waiting on the insurance adjuster to do his magic.

I didn't know that Ben, good to know you survived it!

I was punted 40 feet down the road off my bike by some myopic prat back in 2010: it didn't take the repair estimator long to hit 3000 GBP for parts, not including the labour to rebuild it, so I took the 5200 GBP they offered me and bought another bike biggrin
I ride what you'll know over there as a Honda ST1300; you know what Jap plastic panels cost... rolleyes

Yeah I survived.
Here's my list of wounds:
Disected pelvis (the trama doc said I could have fit 3 babies through there at the same time). I now have 3lbs of titanium holding everything together
Seperated shoulder with hillsach fracture (the ball is no longer round and I still have horrible pain and virtually no movement). Am told I will never throw a ball again or swim the freestyle.
Lacerated kidney
Lacerated spleen
Torn urethra (yeah I know where everyone is grabbing right now).
Lost a tooth cap (never did see that tooth fairy either).
They saved the best for last. I came home from 13 days in the hospital ready for pt and rehab only to get blood clots in my leg that left me lying on my back with the worst pain in my life for 2 more weeks.

I'm sooooo bored now. Really want to get back to work but that isn't happening in the near future as now I need to see another doc about my shoulder. They cleaim they can't get the mri done for another 2.5 weeks.

Jeez that's not a good list of broken stuff. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

I was lucky when someone did a u-turn in front of me, I just got shot over the car and didn't hit anything. Dislocated shoulder and a 14 month battle with the insurance company. I'm still not quite sure how they thought it was my fault. Pretty careless of me I suppose to drive into they guys door then throw myself over the roof!

There seams to be quite a few wedgers have bikes as well. We must be mad for sure then!

Hope you feel a bit better soon,

That's what my Jags are for smile Big heavy and plenty of power to push right through that pesky Japanese tin.

I had the boss moaning at me for not wearing a seatbelt in the back of his Warrior. I pointed out that I drive a plastic sportscar, ride motorcycles, go sea-kayaking and work with radioactive materials; how much more danger could I be in?
