Megane 265 interest free
Discussion
I'm currently driving everyone mad... the 265 Cup is available to buy new on 0% interest. Works out at £395 a month (over 5 years)
What with the savings to be had from insurance, tax, fuel, servicing, maintenance and MOTs, works out about the same monthly cost as my 56 plate Z4 coupe.
What do you rek? Should I get it?

I rek:
You have a reasonably well-screwed together German car, that is very nice and a lot of people would love to own.
You're considering dropping a load of cash (plus throwing away money on purchase tax and 20% vat to the Government) and purchasing, despite the obvious praise in the chassis and handling, a French-built hatch constructed with dubious quality materials, thrown together down to a price, that will depreciate value-wise like ice cream in the sun, and become a ropey, creaky old shed quite quickly once the miles rack up on it.
Then once it's thrown several expensive strops and cost you a fortune in repair bills, and you become suicidally rage-faced at the numerous chorus of creaks and rattles inside the cabin when you're driving it, that you try to sell it on to a disinterested market, and get silly offers for £00000's less than you paid for it.
Personally, I think you're mental for even considering it. Go and have a cold shower!!

And as for the garb that Ray has posted, I won't disagree with the depreciation (it's a new car, limited market and the residuals as far as a % of the car are not as strong as a German car) but the rest is garbage.
They come with a very good 4 year 100,000 mile warranty, 4 years free servicing and they are as reliable as any other bran new car.
I'd even go as far as saying that they are more reliable than a lot of German Marques, and my experience is first hand by working for a company that sells Renault and Seat.

I love French cars as well but this is very good advice. You have a reasonably well-screwed together German car, that is very nice and a lot of people would love to own.

While it's true it will depreciate faster than a lead ball falling from orbit, have you owned one for any serious length of time to advise what these so called expensive strops might be? You have a reasonably well-screwed together German car, that is very nice and a lot of people would love to own.

To the OP, definitely look second hand unless you REALLY have to have a new one. They're generally well looked after even if they are 'used properly'.

I agree with this entirely. Renault's are not reliable cars and I know Clarkson isn't be all and end all of everything but he said that the cabin isn't a nice place to sit and just an array of plastic thrown together. I would suggest keeping the Z4 as more importantly you're on the pistonheads forum and the easy conclusion to draw is the Megane is FWD and the Z4 is RWD case closed You have a reasonably well-screwed together German car, that is very nice and a lot of people would love to own.

Being fair to lead balls, when in orbit they fall at the same rate as everything else, including feathers. There's no air in orbit to make anything else happen. It's only lower down, in the atmosphere, that the feathers slow down more than the lead
