There's a guy on Ebay who sells bits of original Fender stuff & the prices are eye watering. I know when I've been looking for Pre CBS guitars, the magic bullets are original paintwork, original pickups, original tuners, bridge & electrics in that order. People are willing to pay for it, but a hang tag is taking the piss imho.

No. This is a not-quite-perfect coincidence of a chancer and a genuine vintage parts market*. Ebayer just has excessive wishful thinking.


* A market where $900 for a set of pots and caps for a mid-fifties Les Paul is perfectly logical

What breaks my heart is when someone buys a complete late 50's/early 60's guitar (normally a Strat or Tele) and then breaks it up and sells in parts to make more profit!!!
