So, put the Tiger over t'pit at work and sorted the out of line brake pedal out. Moved the base 3/8 inch closer to me and spaced the master cylinder out 3/4 inch which has worked just nicely!

Whilst under the car, noticed the rear N/S engine mount had snapped, looks like it had been like that a while! Fabricated and fitted a new mount and the engine sits very differently now! Turns out the air intakes had been supporting some of the weight!

While I was doing the engine mount, had a check over the starter which is easy to get to underneath and it was loose and one of the posts had obviously been taking a hammering against the chassis. So new starter and solenoid fitted and bang on.

The speedo stopped working the day after I bought the car and the cable had come out of the gearbox, replaced this, dead easy.

Made and fitted an ali sump guard so was VERY pleased with a couple of days work!...............

Until I came to back it out of the garage! No reverse!

In straightening the engine up it now means the hole that the stick comes through isnt quite big enough to allow the "up and left" to get the car into reverse! Oh well, these things etc etc.

I'm not very good mechanically but I have a feeling this car is going to make me a fast learner!

I know a chap who has had the engine mounting plate tear away from the chassis rail. It seems quite a few people find they need to add extra support to this plate.

Here is a thread over on SKCC: http://southernkitcars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7...

yep there's a few in skcc that have had issues.
on my old car - a supercat the mounts didn't have enough support near the chassis rail and were bending and about to fail.
currently have a tiger r5 and those supports also needed beefing up.
