Getting my father a package for almost reaching old age.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Needs to be near yorkshire (Nearish Hull but up to 2-3 hours away max) and include 4/5 different cars, preferably exotic.

If any PHer owns such a company I would rather help them out and as long as the old man enjoys it... All is good.

Needs to be in August and they dont mind if the rest of the family turn up to watch (him and 4 spectators).

Brother is looking at:

Anyone had any experience of this one?

Given your location, I'm pretty sure Tockwith (York) do driving days as do Teesside Autodrome ('Boro)

Many years ago before I could afford nice cars I did a Ferrari experience day at Thuxton.

I'm glad the experience was a gift because I'd have resented paying for it!

Instructor sat next to you, very limited number of laps, lots if other cars on track at the same time, told by instructor which gear to be in and not getting higher than third gear made for an utterly disappointing day.

I expect some companies are better than this but do your research!

There are, I think, companies that do still Classic Car Experience days where two people are put together for the day and experience five cars or so, swapping over the driving of each car for a period.

I did one near to Oulton Park a few years back and drove a 246 Dino, a 328, a Lotus Elise, a Stag and an Aston Martin with a pub lunch half way through.

It was really good although one couple disappeared in the 246 for far longer than agreed and the Police were about to become involved.

A couple of years ago my daughters bought me a single seater experience at Rockingham, which was excellent (I was 60 at the time). I'd do it again every year if I could afford it!

I'm doing this on Sunday, also at Elvington. Might be worth considering? http://www.ultimate-dek.co.uk/

60th birthday you say? Do they do a Honda Jazz day anywhere? tongue out

More seriously, have you looked for an offroad driving day? I did one of those and loved it, Land Rovers, Quads, Argocats etc. Really good fun and preferred it to both the track day and carting day I did.
