...hide things?

Pencils, pen tops, mini lip-glosses etc are all fair game. Anything that vaguely makes a noise on a wooden surface will be chased, pounced on... and then hidden.

I wouldn't mind, only today he's made off with my work network remote access key, and I desperately need it. irked

Anyone else's cat do this?

My cat takes the stuff, but when he's had enough the lazy bugger just leaves it in the middle of the floor.

One of my loves straws. Nicks them from my drinks and away she goes... But as above, they tend to be left in the middle of the hallways.

Scraggy loves a pen. But doesn't hide them as such. They just escape him into a corner, or under something.

Fitz used to hide things under the bath (there was a Fitz sized gap in the back panel!) coins, pen lids hairspray lids and socks were his favourites. It was also his safety spot wen anything startled him (back then everything seemed to!!)

Glad its not just our 2

Although as others have said I am not sure they hide them so much as play then get them stuck under the sofa

Anything cylindrical so pens, straws, clipper lighters, carmex tins

I have taken to checking under the sofa every week and retrieving their bounty.

My Mum thought she had lost her marbles when she found pens at the bottom of our garden but it turned out Pegerty was taking them from my Dad's office and just hiding them! She only did it as a young cat too.

My cat does not hide things, but he will stalk and attack certain items, like loose socks on the floor. If you happen to be a misplaced item of laundry in my house, your days are numbered. And of course, by "attack" I mean you will be hit with a paw (no claws of course), dragged across the carpet, meowed at and pawed some more, and then the cat will leave to go and sit on his owner's knee and sleep.

My 2 cats don't steal anything. They never have. My dog on the other hand, will take my socks, shoes, pillows, toilet roll, and so on, to his little hides hole under the bush in the garden.

McQueen is the troublemaker here - when we are not around.

Our neighbour loves him and invites him inside every day. But she´d better be sure that the toilet door is closed and that her bras are inside her bedroom closet. He will nick them and try to run off with them. Moreover he likes to claw her toiletpaper.
