I have driven over to france quite a few times in the last couple of years and am getting irritated by the cost of the headlamp beam deflectors. They never get damaged - it's just the single use adhesive that is just such a waste. Does anybody in the great Pistonheads collective know how I can keep reusing them?

I used 3M clear parcel/all weather tape the last couple of times to re-use my deflectors, seemed to do the trick, you couldn't see the tape unless you were right next to the headlight/felt it and they stayed on ok at Autobahn speeds...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Been going over a couple of times a year for about 5 years now, and it's a bloody pain.

Heres a tip.

Buy some of those healight plastic protectors. You know the type that clip on over the headlamp. Then stick the beam deflectors to those. biggrin

Or buy a more modern car that has a small lever arrangement for LHD/RHD traffic wink

Yes I had a look at those but they seem expensive considering the deflectors I have still work - it's just the adhesive problem. If I could find an adhesive that would allow me to reuse my deflectors several times without damaging the plastic headlamp covers of my Ford Focus I would be happy.

I have a 2011 Ford focus - hardly old is it? Is it common for modern cars to be able to arrange their headlights for LHD/RHD traffic?
