Whilst working on a customers car t'other day, the subject of the new '13 plates came about. A friend in the trade said there is a real concern of a huge fall in new car buying due to the associated stigma of a '13 unlucky for some' registration.

A little dickie bird started a rumour that the '62 plate may be extended....

At first I scoffed at the concern of the buying public but thinking about it, I would probably avoid it too, but purely from a resale POV.

Oh, OK a bit of superstition in there too I guess boxedin

Anyone else have an opinion?

Doubt the 62 would be extended. Saw my first 13 plate car the other day, looked like some KIA or Hyndai on a test drive with trade plates.

And my opinion of it is, it's all a load of ste, there's no such thing as luck or unluck.

I've heard the same, that garages are concerned about trying to shift cars with 13 on their plates. As the above poster has said, they won't be extending the 62 plate.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest, I'd be more concerned about the last 3 letters making a comical word. Used to be a garage nearby, where all their cars registrations ended with poo. It might be daft but I really do think, I'd think twice before buying a car with a registration like that.
