De-moulding a cloth interior...
Discussion
My Mum was takne into hospital just before christmas and cameout a couple of weeks ago. Just after she went in, some 'gent' took the oportunity to have a good rummage through her car. Nothing inside worth nicking but they kindly left the rear doors slightly ajar meaning the seats got soaking wet.
My brother dried them the best he could at the time, but we were more worried about our Mum surviving than her 04 plate Focus! Now it has mould (very fine green dry powder type mould) growin gon the seats and seatbelts...we've hoovered some out early on, but there's quite a bit still there...
Now she's back fit and well, she's looking to drive it again and we need to get it cleaned up properly...she;s got a breathing condition so I'm guessing breathing in mould spores is nto going to do her any favours...
Any hints or tips? Throw it at a good valet? just a good hoover? washing up liquid on the seatbelts??
I guess the most drastic option would be to replace it all, but it's very low miles from new and mint, so seems an expensive shame...
I want her to be safe and healthy though!
Help!!

You'll need an anti-bacterial / anti-mould cleaner. I think some APC cleaners have it in. You should be able to get it cleaned up rather than replacing it though.
A good valeter / detailer should be able to sort it for you.
Thanks - APC cleaner? is that the make or a mneumonic?A good valeter / detailer should be able to sort it for you.
You will probably find that if you want the spores to go then get the seats properly valeted using a Puzzi. Second option if thats to exspensive is to try using or borrowing a steam cleaner then give a really good vac out. you need to make sure there is some heat going through the car for awhile else you will be back to square one.
