I have 2 brace of pheasant left over and one of them is a black French pheasant. I think thats what they are called. Kind of looks like this

Do they taste any different from normal pheasant?
That is actually a 'melanistic mutant' ring-necked pheasant. It is a genetic mutation that causes the odd bird to display those amazing dark green hues. Beautiful creatures to behold but essentially a standard pheasant so eating will not be any better. The cock birds have great tail feathers though ! On our shoot there was a price on any that were shot (£50 from memory) that was donated to the Game Conservancy.Do they taste any different from normal pheasant?

Tastes the same pretty much, bit more stupid when shooting though.
MORE stupid !?Do they hover in front of my barrels? I mean how could anything be any more stupid than a standard pheasant.
In Dec I had a bird spring up out of some game crop and head towards me at 6ft. I wasn't loaded so I didn't shoot (bit low to be sporting) but no matter, it flew into my face.
silly birds
