As per the title - I have an international colleague over next week and he wants a decent curry in London. Any recommendations?

Depends what you are after really.

Waterloo - There are two on The Cut that are your average pissed up bloke in a suit curry places.

You could try Bangalore Express which is right opposite Waterloo station. "Modern Indian" and most amusing for the "bunk bed" style tables up a ladder.

On the other side of the river you could look at Massala Zone, which is Indian snack food style. Some really interesting dishes, Chana Dabalroti - a chick pea curry with a hunk of toasted buttered bread, sounds odd but is lovely. And the Bhel Puri / Dahi Puri snacks that you don't normally get in average curry houses.

In a similar vein, Dishoom. Tries a bit hard to be achingly hip, and this may grate. You can get a bhang lassi (without the bhang !) too. But interesting food in a cool place.

Or jump on the district line and head to Tayyabs or Mirch Massala smile

Or,if you don't mind a £10 cab ride to somewhere nice..........

Mala in St Katherine Dock. Have a sharpener in the Dickens Inn first.

Well in the end I had to cancel as Mrs Puggit had to work frown

I advised them to go to Cinnamon Club but they went elsewhere (no rave reviews were fed back!).

Thanks all - I'll certainly try CC soon.
