Mesh Grill

The Aluminium slats of my S's radiator grill under close inspection are starting to look a little pitted. My fault I know for driving too close to the car in front. Does anyone have any thoughts on changing them to a stainless steel honeycomb mesh? Despite Br's continued enhancements I would still prefer Purdey's outward appearance to remain standard. If it is a good idea where do I source one from?

You could try the new satin black grille as that looks rather good.

Mine have a sort of anodised finish (silver)..... You probably know this but the slats can be carefully pulled out, and cleaned on the bench....

I used autosol and fine wire wool, and they came up as good as new..

Luna, the front edges of the slats are chipped ! No amount of Solvol is going to sort them out. Thanks anyway.

Astonbits have a carbon black edition grille advertised. However you may find you can get your grille sorted under warranty

Rob mine is heading the same way (though I doubt as bad as yours)
I'm planning on pulling the slats getting them sanded down, filling any really bad pits and getting them powder coated Anthracite to match the wheels (along with the bonnet and wing vents)

I was going to suggest somthing similar...... I have a linishing belt machine .....and I know how to use it

Burnt out, the black grill could be a possible. When it chips, will it be alloy underneath? Children Aston are offering a mesh version for £680. Problem is I am not able to see it ,fitted,face on if you get my drift. I like Luna's kind offer.

I have seen it done to a DB9 - it didn't look right but I could see the reasoning behiond it. It's a DB7 thing and I always preferred the barred grille on that as well.
