991 Turbo is PDK-only
Discussion
Just finished reading Car mag, and there's an almost off the cuff Q&A with Wolfgang Hatz, R&D head, who clearly states that "I will be honest, we will not have a manual anymore.".
Perhaps not entirely surprising given the shift to PDK on the GT3, but I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else so thought it worth a post up. I wonder what odds the 981 Spyder/R being PDK-only now, too?

That's because all the PDK owners want out!
Nope. It's just that the buyers of the new cars wanted PDK in the first place, so there's lots more of them in the second hand market. Once the 993 pipe and slippers brigade have moved on, their slippers will be filled by the 997 Manual pipe and slippers brigade. PDK is the future.

I think the future used market will be interesting. Buyers of used car may will be looking for a weekend/hobby/fun car to run alongside their daily. As such a manual 'box may well be more desirable - and doesn't come with the added r&m worries a PDK might.SS7

Good point. Agreed. The PDK is SO good that it has rendered the manual obselete in this instance. It's not like ferrari's early F1 box which aped F1 purely for novelty, to be fair the turbo needs this box, the turbo manual isn't amazing, the turbo's party trick of flat out bursts through the gears means gear selection is paramount.
