Now that the EU mandated tyre ratings are coming on-stream it makes quite interesting reading. Some people are going to have to park their prejudices about certain budget brands. There are certainly some predictably poor results (Primewell PZ900 - wet rating B, Falken ZE914 - B!!!), but some nice surprises too.
I put a set of four Event WL905s on the workhorse family 307SW last year. Yes they were cheap, and according to some of the reviews I should be dead 10 times now.
Well - wet rating: E! Better than Bridgestone RE050 and Pirelli PZero.
I'm waiting for the people-who-will-never-be-convinced to chip in now....

The key is "Tyres are self certified". You can take the ratings with a pinch of salt. They mean nothing unless an independent body has tested them, which they haven't. These are the manufacturers ratings of their own product.
Ha ha! That means that when Michelin say all their are A rated they are talking s
