20 miles is probably more than you need to travel, but I've no complaints yet with Fancutt's in Honeybourne.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's my only means of transport so ideally needs to be in (or very close) to Worcester.

Edit: 35mins of twisting A & B roads. Not ideal but a bit nearer than Honeybourne.

Hello, I live in Worcester too, and drive a 2000 E39 528i SE.

For general mechanic stuff I use Richard Ferneyhough, Unit 13 X, Shrubhill Ind Est, Worcester WR4 9EL, 01905 21904, 07710 800 282

For any specific BMW specialist stuff, I use
http://pwebdesign.brinkster.net/bmeuroservice/cont...

I cannot recommend either highly enough, both superb places.

Our local BMW main dealer are also superb for genuine parts (I will use nothing else).

Hi,

Appreciate that this is an old thread but thought it may answer the question for anyone else needing help in Worcester with a BMW.

I found a guy who used to work for BMW directly, he set up a BMW only specialist garage in Worcester a number of years ago.

They are called; 'The E36 / BMW Centre' in Worcester. I have Travis' mobile as; 07949 106 884 & no i dont work for them; I am a customer.

Since then I have taken the 3 BMW's that we have (We live in Oldbury, Birmingham) over to him in Worcester as he is super reliable, very reasonable and will always book out the ramp for me if he knows I am coming over & he always repairs whilst I wait and has never failed.

What I like about him is the specialist knowledge that comes from someone who specifically knows about BMW engines and issues.

I recently brought my wife a 320D sports estate, 6 months later for convenience only I had a service done at Halfords as it is 2 min away from me (Never again), they did a service and advised glow plugs and we had them changed. However its run poorly ever since. They had had the car back and said there is nothing wrong with it.

I explained to Travis the symptoms and he immediately knew what saw to blame. He said it will read that all 4x Glowplugs are faulty... so its the Glowplug relay / actuator & advised that I replace the Oil Separator / Breather at the same time.

So I booked the ramp for the morning to sort this and the front brakes out. I arrived at 8:30am sharp and there he was clear ramp waiting for me.

After a quick test drive for a feel of the car, Travis plugged it and low and behold it was exactly what he said.

Travis had also advised me that a Swirl? flap delete was needed on this car as they are known to break off and fall into the engine thus scrapping it.

So Travis set to work with the parts he had preordered for me smile stripped the engine and manifold down.

We were so disappointed to see that Halfords (I will be taking this up with them) had silicone down the manifold as opposed to replacing the o-rings (Oval & Circular) that creates a seal. See pics. Shocking work.

Halfords has also broken a bracket on the bottom of the manifold that another item clips too. As there is no way to replace this, Travis drilled two little holes in order that he could properly mount the it again.

Travis carefully removed the Swirl flap things o the manifold, Installed the blanking plates, the new genuine BMW Oil Separator, cleaned off the manifold seals, removed the Orings (square & Circular) and cleaned the silicone of all parts carefully as not to drop any into the engine.

He then reinstalled everything, put the engine, covers, braces etc back together.

Travis plugged it back in, cleared the codes, then I took it out for a test drive & hey presto, it feels like an absolutely NEW CAR.

Its responsive, more power, torque - it just feels alive smile so happy as my wife went from loving her car to being fed up with her car & now she loves it again.

So grateful as with this kinda thing I could have had me running around for ages!

When Travis replaced the front brakes, I liked the fact that he took the time to clean up the holders with a wire brush and that he used a copper paint to stop the brakes from sticking / squeeking.

Above all Travis is a genuinely nice guy, willing if you are able to comprehend to explain whats happening, what he is doing and why - I enjoyed the level of detail as it demonstrates his understanding and provides me with a level of reassurance. (Lol, some of it went over my head tho so I hope to have explained things correctly and called things by the right names).

There are also a few things that I took note of;

A tide workshop with organised tools
Highly recommended on FB on a number of other pages
Fender / front arch covers for your car whilst working
He torques wrenches everything properly
He reset the service notice on the car as halfords did not without me asking
Proper receipts & Pulled in some favors to get good prices for me
He kept me informed and involved on everything & followed up with Photos of the work
He worked through his lunch so i could get home to collect my little one.

Very grateful Travis, would definitely recommend you to others.

Cheers, Colin.
