I've updated my site to have some new pictures (the first in over a month) and it's something slightly different for me - lighting a subject. What do you think on these?

Some of the earlier ones are bit grainy, but I like:

I've softened the last one to play, but other than cropping they are straight out of the camera.

And yes, that's my ugly mug!

Thanks, you've actually proven to myself that my monitor is completely foobah'd.

The 2nd image is just a black square even at 100% contrast and brightness settings on my monitor.

Only by increasing the gamma settings on Irfanview can I see the face.

PS When I turn the gamma up to see the face, I see Mick Hucknell

It is very faint, I quite like it for that reason. I forget I'm running a fairly nifty monitor (got sick of breaking them so got a Viewsonic P95F).

I'm just hoping other people can see the picture (I know a few mates can)

I can see all three. Not sure what you mean by illumination though - illuminated by what?

light, its the first time I've ever tried to take pictures of a subject which is lit by a light source rather than just in plain light.

Indeed this is the first time I've ever tried taking photos of anyone.

I know they aint "good" but I just posted them here for fun

I must admit it's marginally amusing that everyone is saying "I can see them" but ignoring commenting on them

heh! Well it's hard to know what to say, as they're experimental. They remind me of early holograms, especially the shoe.

I was kinda hoping you would offer some other ideas to make the experiment "better"

I did comment on them, I said "I can see Mick Hucknell" that was enough to scare me off here till today

Will try, but tell us what you were trying to achieve - you want to make them better - what do you want them to look like? What is the lighting?
Obviously the focus is miles out in one, but that might have been part of the effect. Sorry, brain's blown up!

the dodgy focus wasn't, that was done later in PSP to play around.

Actually, I don't know what I was hoping to achieve, just wondered if anyone had tried something like this before and any ideas they had...
