I enquired about this car some time ago but never went to see it. From memory ..... 1971 911T converted to RS rep. Bodywork was fully refurbished on coversion about 10 yrs ago and has RS rear arches etc. Interior to light weight spec but not very accurate. The engine appears to be a warmed over T on carbs with some mods during rebuild. The seller doesn't know the exact spec but said it felt like about 160 bhp. Some of the running gear was refurbished but details (or my memory) are a little flakey.
It has been sale for over a year so may be worth a cheeky offer if the body is rust free. Source a decent motor and it could be a lot of fun.

beautuful looking car. Non original engine though if that makes a difference?993kimbo said:
Lovely car, but always thought it was a little too expensive. My problem with it is that it would most prob be impossible to churn/sale back once I get tired of it.I would use that as a daily run...a cheap alternative to RS

you can tell from the engine photo thats something like an SC 3 litre. its certainly not MFI or anywhere near RS spec. lots of other odd details. eg brakesas others have said...been for sale for years
there was a v tasty baby blue car for sale in the race retro auction at the weekend...might be worth checking if it sold
I'm getting bored of these 911 2.7 RS look-a-likes.
There seems to be a lot around, struggling to sell. Most end up in auctions - few here http://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2013-03...
Most are probably best restored to original specification.

I think good cars, sensibly priced will always sell. There is a lot of difference between a back date / cosmetic replica like the examples in the recent auction and a proper replica with the correct period running gear. The gulf blue RS replica used to be fantastic when I first saw it and had a 2.7 MFI engine. Sadly, the dealer removed a number of the good parts, dropped in a 3.0SC engine and then added £30k to the price about 5 years ago ...... which is probably why it is still for sale!
The black 911T with 3.0 engine looks very nice but really needs a period engine IMO. Would be better on std size wheels and with the ride height sorted. Looks to be an excellent base but hard to value.

It's always going to be prohibitive to get to a proper 2.7 engine on MFI. That's why they have 3.0L CIS ones. If it was 20k, I'd have it with the 3.0L!BErt
