We're all petrol heads. We all like engines. These, however, are a different league. They really don't make 'em like they used to.

Yep, the Victorians took pride in their work. Wonderful stuff: if we tried it now it would take 10 times as long, go 10x over budget and then break.

It would be yes. Those most amazing thing was how quiet it was. You could easily hold a conversation right next to it.

What you can't see from the pics is quite how dark it was. They're ISO 800 shots at between 1/15 and 1/30 sec with no IS on my Sigma 15-30mm. All hand held (I was having a very steady day).
