I'm tempted to go for a carbon fibre front lip spoiler for my M6 (e63)

Similar to what is shown here -

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63-bmw-m6-forum-...

Mine is silverstone blue also. I've never seen one in the flesh though and am hoping it is fairly subtle...

Any opinions? Good/Bad/Chavtastic?

That's nice and subtle.
Suits it well, go for it!

Can always take off and re sell if you don't like.

thanks,
yeah I've got one on mine but it's replica from ebay (China I think)
It is Vorsteiner replica and it fits rather well.
I wouldn't recommend you to buy the original (even if you prefer the originality and money isn't issue for you)
because a lot of other users found out that you're gonna end up scratching/banging at some point, why not just get cheap chinese ones and get another one if it's damaged.
The cheap ones on the ebay, however, are partially carbon fibre.
The bottom part are just plastic, the exposed surface is carbon fibre. (I found that this is actually good in a way because the flexible plastic would cope with the impact, whereas the real carbon fibre would have just deliver the impact onto the bumper and end up cracking)

anyways, you're gonna like it. It's the most common one for our M6,

here are some pics on mine

another alternative you could consider is ACS

but I prefer the Vorsteiner style

hope that helps mate and when you get it, just make sure you pin it with 7 self-tappers or similar and use double sided tape as well (preferably 3M VHB)
I went up to 175mph, no problem.

Thanks a lot for the pics and the info, really useful. I'll likely go for the vorsteiner replica but will have a think about it.

Your car looks great in the pics by the way.

Finally got around to getting one of these. I really like it, looks more subtle in the flesh than the photos. I really think it sharpens the styling of the front end up, always thought it was a bit lacking...

Happy days!

What was the fit like? Have you got a link from where you bought it from?

Thanks
Nick

I'm not sure where it originally came from, I had been keeping an eye on eBay for a while and one came up second hand. Pretty sure it is one of the cheaper Chinese Vorsteiner replicas, but I'm happy with it.

Yea I think I see a used one on ebay for £200-£250 a couple of weeks ago so guessing it that's one. Post some pics up. Cheers for the response.

Just got it stuck at the moment, waiting on getting locking nuts and bolts to attach it properly. Will try and get a PIC then. Fit appears very good at the minute...
