Does this sound like a good deal on a new fiesta??
Discussion
Morning all,
Due to a change in job my wife will be losing her company car so over this last week we have been looking at different car options for her and have settled on a new Fiesta, she isn't after anything flashy just cheap, reliable and practical as we have my 350z for a more fun car.
After going back and forth between Essex ford and Dagenham motors the best deal on the table is from Dagenham, who I have preferred dealing with, it is as follows, a 1.25 zetec, metallic paint (£525 option), spare wheel (£95 option), matt set (£35 option) and half a tank of fuel (about £30).
We will be going with the Ford options package over 2 years at 4.9% APR and putting down a £1000 deposit, Ford will top that up by £250 making it £1250, we have the Ford discount ticket and after playing the dealers off each other Dagenham came out best with a monthly payment of £120, I don't recall the exact price (I have it written down somewhere) but it brought the price of the car down to just under £9900 and list price was just over £13k.
What do you think, would you take it? Any thoughts appreciated.

That's the deal, there are 3 base colours but the pearl and metallics are an extra cost, same with the mat set, velour mats cost more and velour mats with metallic stitching are even more.
Sorry, poor attempt at humour.Really struggling to get excited about this thread tbh, and can't see why, if one of your criteria is "cheap", you choose new over 3 year old.

Are you actually getting a discount on the car pre discount voucher (whatever it is) sounds to me like your paying list with a contribution from them on the finance deal.
That was what i was thinking, when we bought her previous fords we did the deal then i threw in we had the discount voucher, foolishly I was up front about the voucher and if I'm honest that was the reason for me posting this up in the first place...I said this to the chap at Dagenham as from Fords point of view i was effectively walking in and paying the price on the windscreen with out any discount.Bill said:

because she gets the discount voucher it's always worth her having a look at a brand new ford, I'm not personally a fan of new cars and would rather buy something that has already taken a hit on value.Really struggling to get excited about this thread tbh, and can't see why, if one of your criteria is "cheap", you choose new over 3 year old.
The appeal for her is that aside from the annual service there should be zero running costs.

How much a month? Have a look at lease deals on google for similar money. I wouldn't be buying a new fiesta without the 1.0 ecoboost engine personally.
That engine certainly seems the business based on stats and indeed is said to drive well but gets nowhere near its stated consumption in real world driving in any review I've seen. IIRC Evo quoting mid-30s from one they drove. If that's important to Mrs OP.dean350z said:
I did have a little look at leasing but I couldn't help but think that with finance for the same amount of money per month at least in a X amount of years time potentially we would be left owning a car worth money.
isn't there a final balloon payment with the current offer you speak of?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
