hi Guys,

My oil temp started to read zero the other day and went to try and start the car and I get Error code 0 followed by I which is - Oil temp sensor open circuit.

Any clues where to start on this one?

Thanks

Oil temp sensor has probably gone US. Probably water ingress. Mine went when I steam cleaned chassis a year ago

The sensor is located on the rear half of offside radiussed corner of the dry sump (oil) tank - in the bottom 1/3.
Easy enough to change.

Jack offside front of car up. Drain oil from tank - drain plug fairly obvious.
Then note wires going to the sensor terminating in plug. Remove plug from sensor, unscrew sensor from tank check new sensor has fibre(?) washer and screw in. Connect plug and you should be OK.

Replacement sensors from R.Green, Racetech direct etc....about £8-£10.

Unless I am reading it wrong it is £33 plus vat plus postage .
£50 for a part that would be £8 if we could work out what it was from.
quite frustrating !

A bit cheaper at Power.

I think they are TVR specific. I didn't drain the oil to swap mine. Finger over hole quickly after removing old and then quickly insert new one.

Aaaah! never thought of the finger trick!!
That would save a few litres of oil!!

Hi Guys,

Update for you I've replaced the oil temp sensor and I'm now not getting any errors on the dash but when I go to start the car makes a very rapid clicking sound and doesn't turn over. Any ideas?

Thanks
