Going to try to revamp the reflectors as I understand the originals are hard to come by. How do the cowls come off so I can get the glass off and the reflector out?

Two wing nuts underneath the cowl, accessible through the opening underneath the indicator or grill opening.

The cowl also has a blob or two of sikaflex on the top edges, be careful when releasing the sikaflex so as not to damage the paintwork.

biggrin

It's gonna be a while isn't it. I get all these great ideas, and then the weather will warm up and I'll go f**k it and just go drive it. biggrin

Not hard to come by Mark, just expensive.
RG usually has them.

A snip at £126.92 (incl.) each; clicky

Makes a very big difference though if yours are tarnished. And cheaper than bolting a VW to the front of you car (lupos; yech!).

I got an email from a PHer this morning offering these at very reasonable prices, which I'll take up if my motor factor mate can't beat.
Will not be doing any upgrade of any sort I prefer the original look and the Lupo doesn't do it for me.

Took mine off and the wee nuts were no problem it was the amount of Mastic on the top edges that made it near impossible not to damage anything, when I put them back on I will use butterfly nuts and less mastic,,,
