My gripe is companies that make a living out of buying tickets and selling them for double the price on ebay. They shouldn't be allowed to do this!! REAL fans of a band can't buy tickets, because they're all sold out and bought by these 'companies' that then sell dozens of each online for a massive profit. The seller I bought some off recently had several dozen of each ticket available for every artist going, its terrible!

Another gripe: I was purchasing Black Crowes tickets in Manchester from a company similar to Ticketmaster and was offered sign upon delivery ticket postage for £5.95.I searched for the option to either pick them up or go for a cheaper postal method but there wasn't one. An absolute piss-take. Especially when RM do a sign for delivery service for less than half the price!

It is in publications, as is the way I have always used it. In the many publications that I have to my name this has never been corrected. Perhaps all of the editors and reviewers are incorrect?Full stop? Stop being so pedantic

Not just companies and not just on ebay. I hate it, someone will say its the way the world works, I say its the way people are happy to say "I am all right jack." whilst they have you over a barrel.So I have stopped bothering to try.

In publications it may well be correct. In this instance I don't think it is. Just as when it's used in citations. As far as I'm aware foreign words that have entered common usage, i.e. 'laissez faire' should not be italicized.

This isn't a publication though, it's a forum. Italics of latin words in publications is common place, with 'et al' being one. It is correct.

Is there any ticket supplier that sells tickets at face value ?
The arrangement fees are a joke or would be if they were not over 10 % of the ticket price.
I tried for tickets for The WHO, Only ones left by the time I got through about 1 hour after release £117 PLUS £18.50 arrangement fee per ticket at the furthest point away only just in the same arena.

Event ticketing is as close to being cartel type scam without it actually being illegal as you can get.
Someone posted a here a blog on this subject from a member of a mainstream band not that long ago and various pro-muso buddies seem to think the whole issue is close to imploding, It's certainly simmering close to boiling!

Previous attempts to make the system more fair have resulted in greater restrictions being levelled on everyday concert goers. I had two tickets for RUSH at the MEN last year but couldn't attend so tried to give them to my other half's sister and husband. Unfortunately they didn't feel happy about it as it specified on the tickets "Due to touting..etc..the band..etc.. tickets will be checked on entry to the concert against the buyer's credit card details"! If I've paid for a concert ticket fairly I should be able to give the ticket to whoever I choose. Absolutely ridiculous. I have turned down the chance to see RUSH this season because of this. I'm running out of bands. Why would you not just lend your sister-in-law your credit card?Back on topic - they need to make the re-sale of concert tickets illegal, same as football tickets. I've pretty much given up trying to get tickets now. Unless you are able to buy them within 30 mins of them going on sale then there's no alternative than to pay 3 times the price on Ebay.
Although I do like it when bands stiff the touts - I remember when Take That were playing Manchester, every time a date sold out they just announced another date. In the end tickets were selling for pennies on Ebay.
