He certainly doesn't come across as well on film as our Chris, but anyone that's read his book has to respect what he's done.

Maybe one day the film about his drive across the USA will finally get released.

Just seen half of the first video. I have previously tried to get through Roy's videos on the drive channel but couldn't manage it. In the first half he has already trotted out the standard "wrong side of the road" line and when asked about driving on welsh roads " so far these are the best driving roads i've seen in england" just awful and so annoying.

The americans on the big car related youtube channels are a mixed bag, some ghastly others great. Jonny Lieberman's entire purpose in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GFmpAyj4jg is recommending food then chewing with his mouth open.

This chap is also annoying in all his videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMcZa4iBbLQ

As is this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7GJWyCB0MA

Not all bad obviously but those last two guys should be sacked and the slack taken up by Auotcar, EVO or harris.

Rant over. Seems i am quite down on them but those channels have some cracking videos, very good on average.

Ta

In my defence, it had been 'in production' for many years. Looking forward to seeing it now though.

I've seen a few videos with Alex Roy and have to say he's a "distinctive personality".

I guess we have to conclude that to have done all the nonsense he's done, he must be a good guy, but bloody hell his book is slooooow.

I believe the release has not been authorised by Alex Roy though (Producer), and he is currently suing the Director.

'Authorised'? He put up some money which makes him a backer, but I doubt that it includes any creative control.

Did they resolve that legal hiccup around the release of 32 Hours then?

I like Alex Roy.

He's apparently a big europhile and seems to go to some really out of the way places by American standards on his videos. His video on the making of C'etait Un Rendez Vous was really cool too.

I think he drives a Citroen SM too?
