Evening All,

A quick post to say I was treated to one of the best noises I have ever heard in my 30 years today, which came courtesy of the driver / owner of F40 XXX.

After doing a little bit of homework I can tell that the car had a after market exhaust system as it had three identical outlets, I believe the standard system had to larger outlets left and right with a singular oval outlet in the middle.

Anyway after trying to keep up to take in all the noise and un-burnt fuel it was dumping out the back I finally gave in, although my Smart is mapped and the V-Max removal feature was handy unfortunately it wasn't a match for an F40 on full chat.

Here a quick snap,

I like the contrast of the picture. A Sainsburies carrier bag littered and the McDonald's sign in the distance with the F40 in the forefront thumbup

Beautiful car yes

Gorgeous cars. I doubt I'd have been able to contain myself at the sight of one on the road.

Nice find smile

Indeed, lucky boy! They are that seldom seen and special I'd naturally assume a passing F40 would probably be a replica. Same goes for AC Cobras - I don't think I've ever seen the real McCoy.

What are they worth these days??

Very nice, haven't seen an F40 on the road since the 90s, although living in Shropshire now you don't seem to see much of interest on the roads frown

This was one of my first thoughts after the initial excitement had elapsed, it would appear you’d need the think end of £370,000 for a nice example.

I also have a short video but I’m not sure how to share this, any ideas.

This was the last time I saw one in the wild, Enzo, F40 and a CL63 AMG!
Add the BHP together along with me in my 500bhp Audi S4 for a grand total of about 2000BHP going down the road, it sounded awesome as they were'nt hanging about either cool

Isnt that an Enzo at the front, not an F50?

Working in castle donnington means I get to see plenty of stunning cars as they potter back and forth to the circuit. Last year I spotted my first F40 on the road, it was glorious! Also came across a jag xj220, first I had seen anywhere. Last week there was a AC Cobra in the petrol station although I'm unsure if it was a real one or replica. There's been plenty of porkers, ferraris, lambos and other exotica on show. Also saw the BAC mono before I even new it existed presumably testing up at donnington. Great place to work for sight seeing!

Have also driven alongside an F40, beautiful, my favourite ever 'spot'. It was last year, heading south through Guildford on the A3.

The bearded gent at the wheel was taking it quite easy and was followed by a lady in a 355.

I was on my way to the Isle of Wight, and when I got to the ferry, so were they........

Hi Nick,

That was me, glad you enjoyed it! You are correct, the exhaust is not standard, it has a straight through "LM spec" system fitted, was hardly full chat though, would not have been much above 4000rpm, with redline around 8000, you would definitely have heard that! I was just pleased we had a dry weekend for a change so it could have a proper run, they need regular use and this winter has made that quite difficult.
