Hi I am looking to start entering some sprints and hillclimbs and wondered if anyone had attended one of the hillclimb schools and if so what did they think?

Many thanks in advance,

Matt.

I've done the Prescott and Shelsley schools. They were both good, but if you held a gun to my head and forced me to choose, I'd say Prescott was better. They video the runs for the post run critique, and (IMO) Prescott is a more interesting hill.

I would attend a school at a venue you intend to compete. I have attended schools at Harewood and Gurston Down and both were informative, well run and enjoyable.

Would totally agree with this.I went to Harewood and Prescott and found them both to be excellent and had plenty of runs on both hills which in terms of practice was the equivalent to a few seasons of events at that hill.It was also very good in that it taught you how to approach and break the hill into sections and some of the turn in points are a lot later than you think. The instructors were also very experienced and helpful. It would have taken a lot longer to take any class records if i had not attended the schools.

Thanks very much guys for all your advice I've got my National B non race licence and applied to join the Farnborough District Motor Club which is my local club.

So next step is to get my car ready along with the safety gear and then enter but in the meantime I'll look into attending a school and am swaying towards Prescott smile
